If America collapses, we are taking the Stanley Cup, unscuffed sneakers and real bacon with us.

I don't see overconfidence among Democrats. You can't be on political Twitter for more than 30 seconds before one or more activists say the polls mean nothing and the Republicans could still hold the House, so keep working. Political scientists have noted some of the early warning signs of a wave election, but there's a very slight difference in actual votes between a wave, where the opposition wins all the close ones, and a normal midterm where the President's party suffers its normal losses by historic standards.

And in a few months, he will probably lose the ability to make any more serious changes to the country. And in two years, he probably won't be president. I have sang a different song in the recent past, believing he was on a path to re-election. But I think that tide is turning and he will be shown the door, and rather swiftly. And shortly thereafter, the country will be back on the right path. Just because there are 60 million people who voted for him doesn't mean there are still 60 million people who support him.

Fortunately, the country is built so even an asshole like him can't do too much damage in the time he has been given. Oh, he has done damage. I won't argue that point, but nothing that can't be fixed.

Right now, you are the guy ducking into your bomb shelter because you heard a few claps of thunder. No, it isn't good, but it also isn't the end.

Here? As in on SJ.com? I count two: Rainman and Doc Holliday. That's hardly "plenty," and their lot aren't smart enough to draw an inside straight two elections in a row.

    Typefitter-
46% of those who bothered to vote supported Trump. The rest of those who bothered to vote did not.
This is a historical aberration that boiled down to 80,000 votes in three swing states.
It is ephemeral and temporary, and will sell a lot of books someday.
The world needs to be patient with us.

I was just joking! You don’t have to get all mean and bring out the mean stuff that quickly.

Not just lies — tried to claim an Obama accomplishment as his own.

Donny, that's true enough. I just wonder when the news fatigue sets in.
I've made a point that I do not follow any of this shit on the weekend.
I hate that I've spent more time following this in 2 1/2 years that could have been spent on so much better things.

If Canada keeps Bieber, we'll keep Ogie Ogilthorpe.
