That was one of the most disturbing posts I've ever seen on this site. I would like to know why it's apparently OK.

Still highly doubtful Beto O’Rourke will win. But the thought of getting Ted Cruz out of office is delightful.

Do Republican voters still think they are voting for the "better" people. More in line with their views? Sure. The legislators they think will do a better job? Yeah.

Opinion | America’s Jews are watching Israel in horror

He recounted Israel’s transformation under Benjamin Netanyahu: the rise of ultranationalism tied to religious extremism, the upsurge in settler violence, the overriding of Supreme Court rulings upholding democracy and human rights, a crackdown on dissent, harassment of critics and nonprofits, confiscation of Arab villages and alliances with regimes — in Poland, Hungary and the Philippines — that foment anti-Semitism. The prime minister’s joint declaration in June absolving Poland of Holocaust culpability, which amounted to trading Holocaust denial for good relations, earned a rebuke from Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust memorial.

The post was already deleted by the time I saw it. I just deleted JC's post, which quoted it.

Here is the thing. I was barely on here yesterday, and wasn't on here at all last night. Even if I had come on, I might not have seen that post. Sometimes I am doing other things and barely paying attention to the board.

I woke up to see that JC referenced me in a post. It happens a lot. He takes lame shots at me over and over again, or says gratuitously nasty things about me. I sometimes don't even bother to look at his posts. I honestly almost didn't look this time, and only saw it because I was flipping through this thread.

He could have reported the post. Anyone else could have. Nobody did. Several other moderators might have seen the reported post. ... IF they came on here last night and weren't occupied with other things. Eventually, a post like that would have been removed -- WHEN / IF it hit any of our radar screens. We don't live on here, and we don't see everything everyone posts instantaneously. And sometimes we will completely miss something without being clued in by others.

Please don't assume that because you see something, it was "allowed." When someone posts something, it reflects on them, not on us. If you think something is out of line, or violates a basic rule of the board, please report it and don't assume we'll even see the reported post immediately.

Fair enough. I didn't report it and I should have. Honestly, until this response, I had never noticed the "report post" option.

When I saw it the first time - about 8 p.m. - I thought WTF. And it had already been up a while. When I saw it was still up 6 hours later, I was shocked.

I know the moderators aren't on all the time, that you catch a lot of flak you shouldn't, and that it's a mostly thankless task. That's why I don't generally comment on the decisions you all make.

This one really caught me by surprise. Usually posts that get nuked do so quickly.
