    BS
Why did the hearing have to be Monday?
Because Grassley was afraid of something like this

The political play for the Dems is this: Make the GOP Senators as uncomfortable as they can when they confirm Kavanaugh and hope it moves a few races closer in the Ds favor. If he withdraws, the next justice won't have confirmation hearings until after Election Day.

And this could be why we won’t see Mark Judge testifying on Kavanaugh’s behalf …

Question of the week: Who are the other boys?

Stupid antics? The Blasey Ford allegation is a case of stupid antics? If she's telling the truth, he tried to rip her clothes off and was thwarted only when another one of his bros tried to jump in on the action. (Literally). If she's telling the truth, he knew what he was doing was wrong because he turned up the Van Halen in order to prevent her protests from being heard. And if you think that's just boys-will-be-boys hijinks, you may be an apologist for inappropriate conduct at the low end and sexual assault on the high end.

I don't know what happened that night in that place. But it does appear that only one of the people involved in the story has taken and passed a polygraph. Of course, such things are not admissible in a court of law, a determinant of freedom vs. incarceration. But this isn't at that standard. It's OK for the Senate to consider it.

Does everybody have something embarrassing in his or her past? Sure. But what's alleged here is far beyond inconvenient. Are you telling me that the One and Only True Party of Christian American Family Values has absolutely nobody in the judicial farm system who could pass a background check that screens for inappropriate sexual behavior? If so, perhaps the Party of God needs some new leaders.

Going for a goodnight kiss that wasn’t going to happen is not the same as holding a woman down and putting your hand over her mouth to muffle her protests. It’s also not the same as shoving one’s penis in another person’s face without that person’s consent. It’s sure as shit not the same thing Avenatti is floating.

“Alleges” being a key word, especially considering Avenatti’s showboat tendencies. “Kavanaugh” being the other key word, because none of the other recent SCOTUS nominees have faced these allegations.

There are going to be three groups in the anti-Trump movement at midterms. The women's vote, for all the #metoo reasons as well as what's going on with Kavanaugh. The black vote, over the overturning of the Obama legacy as well as Kaep. And the youth vote, responding to the Parkland shootings.

Because they were 99 percent of the way through these proceedings before the first word of this was uttered. One way or another, it needs a relatively speedy conclusion before the vague "thorough FBI investigation" wraps up. It's obvious what the political game is here -- either get Kavanaugh to step aside or be withdrawn, or delay the vote indefinitely. Pushing for a fairly quick hearing is a political countermove.
And if not Monday or some time this week, when should the hearing be?

I can not believe someone is arguing that what Bret K is accused of is just college hijinks. I drank A LOT and I smoked A LOT of weed. I never did anything remotely close to what he is accused of doing. I would guess most everyone here would be able to say the same thing.
