"Our guys are pigs. Me too" is certainly an unusual statement from a Senator. Boy those guys are yellow.

 

I wouldn't want a cretaceous-era, tone-deaf dipshit like Charles Grassley asking delicate questions about an alleged assault if I were one of the president's marionettes, either.

 

He's a US Senator. It's his job. It's also like saying, "this is a waste of my time. I know how I'm voting, but I don't want voters to see that on TV."

 

There are some things (actually a lot) I don't agree with here, but Andrew Sullivan tries to find a middle ground in this standoff. His part about drawing bigger circles made me pause for a bit and examine how I'm seeing things.

Michael, these guys aren't on the Hill to perform the rituals of a job in the sense that everyday people understand.

 

Even though I'm not a Pats fan (Griese fanboi) I have the ultimate respect for their mantra, "Do your job!" Cannot stand how legislators have abdicated their roles. 11 mos. without a hearing on Garland? Letting the country come to a halt without a budget? Do your f**king job.

In CA, its even worse, because there's a state-wide proposition avenue here, major legislation is being written and put to voters to approve rather than the State legislature. Ridiculous. I refuse to vote for almost any propositions because legislation is supposed to be enacted by the legislatures, isn't that why we voted for you?
