    In a matter of a couple of decades, republicans have gone from calling Russians "the evil empire" to embracing them. And we've gone from disqualifying a SCOTUS nominee because he smoked pot in college to confirming one even though he has lied repeatedly and may have committed sexual assault in college.

    I wouldn't be so sure Kavanaugh's in. The logic of dropping him for a less disgusting but equally conservative nominee must be gaining appeal -- especially with McConnell.
