There's nothing more Mets than tonight. David Wright's final game. Packed house. Fond sendoff to the captain and face of the franchise. He's going to address the crowd after the meaningless game.

And it's currently a scoreless tie in the 11th inning.

I didn't realize until tonight that Christian Yelich still has a good shot at the triple crown. He's going to win the batting title. He gave himself a shot in home runs by hitting two tonight to tie Matt Carpenter for the NL lead. He is two RBI behind Javy Baez.

Cue somebody saying we shouldn't be talking about anything that involves RBI. :D

RBI and wins are team dependent, but if a batter wins the triple crown or if a pitcher leads the league in wins, ERA and strikeouts,
gonna say they win the MVP and Cy Young almost every time.

Crazy things afoot in the NL.

Dodgers and Rockies tied for the NL West, Cubs and Brewers tied for the NL Central (and No. 1 seed).

If both teams in either division win or both lose, we could have two one-game playoffs.

And if both NL West teams lose and the Braves win, it flips home field for the NLDS.

The Red Sox & Yankees were no doubt helped by having one of the worst teams of all time in their division. Boston went 16-3 vs Baltimore, New York went 12-7.

In the category of things I'll never see again in my lifetime, not only will the Orioles finish 60 games out of first in the division, they will also finish 50 games out of the wild card.

    That is fantastic.

And Scherzer is going to win the Cy Young*.

    * admitting I was wrong right now to avoid doing it should deGrom win it.
