Kane/Taker vs. DX is gonna happen at Crown Jewel. The Prince is a big Attitude Era fan and the right money was sent to make it happen.

A cynic might point out that Raws numbers havent been this bad since last time hbk was in top in 96 but.....

Do we really want to see a comeback vs Taker and the mayor? I mean a dream match vs Styles, Bryan, Rollins, ok screw the retirement stip. For this? Ehhhhhhh.

Its not doing anything for me, personally. You guys?

That was amazing, but Lio Rush missed a golden opportunity to get over by failing to name-drop Shawn Kemp, Gary Payton, the X Man, Nate McMillan, Dale Ellis, etc. At least Renee Young was up for the moment, immediately dropping a Detlef Schrempf reference. Brilliant.

Are Raw rating numbers in the next ten years ever going to be jaw dropping? I just do not see it.

Rush is 23. I'm betting he has absolutely no idea who any of those players are, and the ones who does know, he probably doesn't know well enough to connect them to Seattle on the fly.

They'll never hit the levels they did in the '90s. Too many different options, and too many other ways to consume wrestling even. If you don't watch Raw, you can stream it on Hulu or catch the highlights on YouTube. It's a totally different era than it was back during the Monday Night Wars. Wrestling could be more popular and make more money these days, but it still might never reach those ratings levels.

I get that, but somebody could've told him to drop a Sonics name before he went out there.

This, although I think the ratings could be higher if they had more compelling storylines, characters and a little less predictability.

I'd be fine if he came back, got a win over Taker to put the storyline to bed, then have matches against the guys you list.

The problem, though, is he's 53, hasn't performed in eight years, and had already retired after back surgery once already, 20 years ago. Expectations may be just a wee bit high.
