I disagreed with Scalia and Rehnquist and now Roberts and Alito but never doubted their bond fides it apoointment. Of course they never voiced partisanship like Kavanaugh; that’s the huge difference.

 

The only difference between Keganaugh and the others is that Keganaugh got caught lying. He’s as political, ideological and partisan as they were. Scalia just believed he was uniquely intelligent and arrogant.

 

The brilliance of the Federalist Society is they ID potential judges in college and look out for them as they climb the career ladder. Trump subcontracting out the job to vet justices to the FS will be something that any subsequent POTUS will have to follow.
To paraphrase MLK - I'm kind of waiting for that arc of the moral universe to start bending a little more to justice....

 

And this surprises you? The GOP has put winning the day over good and ethical government for the past 40-odd years.

 

Today is the 17th anniversary of the start of the war in Afghanistan. Next year it'll be old enough to enlist and fight in itself. And we all know it'll still be going on 365 days from now.
