How can he personally lose that much money if he never personally had that much money in the first place?

    Two fundamental points:

How hard is it to be a nice person?
What would a nice person do (rather than what does that mean for me)?

Answers (ideal): Its not that hard to be a nice person, you know what the answer is, the only question is whether you will do it.

The Republican Party owes its success to that message getting garbled — at least since the 1980s. Probably longer.

The GOP has successfully divided the issues on race rather than economic basis.

The rich have drawn the lower educated whites away from the Dems by appealing to their “family values” and guns all the while raping them economically. Look no farther than health care. It’s us v them when those on the us side are voting against themselves.

At some point I just hope those lower income (below $250k) people wake up. Trump has nothing for you but platitudes and lies.

What does the Dems have? Better health care, protection for your social security, worker safety, environmental protections, consumer protections.

    That’s part of it, yes.

    It’s moralism and legalism.

Grievances as much as differences. Moreso, actually. To be on the left is to have to stand behind a long list of grievances and support the entire platform of them. "Intersectionality," growing in popularity, is ingenious in this way, because it's a working theory to link up all the grievances as one thing. It makes for a good moving target, too, that one can never quite pin down. That's part of its effectiveness as a protest platform. There's no real playbook.

Governing like that is much harder. Leftist governments worldwide have proven that. So much time and effort is spent on messaging and cultural education and figuring out who needs to apologize and keeping up appearances and shaming sessions that the actual running of a nation gets short shrift.

Please describe one of these "grievances."

    Is racism a "grievance?"
