Nobody is ever going to cut Social Security or Medicare, these programs overwhelmingly help white folks. There has been a push to reduce the availability of Medicaid to non-white folks, but legal issues hinder this.

 

I won't say ever. I think it's possible after the Baby Boomers are through the system.

I think it will become necessary, but my great hope has always been a grand bargain where the top 10 percent takes a bit of a haircut, too, to mitigate how deep the knife has to slice. That's not happening in this political climate.
