I'm right there with you. I was born in '71, so I missed the '88 election by a year. I was bummed. I don't know that I've missed a contested election in my life. Last year, we had an election for water commissioner, and the guy was running unopposed. I didn't bother to vote in that one.

I'm not the biggest fan of jury duty. I am a high school teacher now, and my first responsibility is to be with my kids. Missing work to for jury duty - although one of the things I teach about is the civic duty of jury duty - doesn't work for me.

    BTE-
What defines a better life for these people?
Seeing fellow countrymen in fear, seeing Mexican babies put in concentration camps? Two bucks more a paycheck? What is it?
Or is it knowing a black man is being erased from political history?
We won't know what they 'think' until we see exit polling.
Either way the bills are going to come due for this administration, as they always do.

I was following both of these today. Another part of the Vandy poll showed how women prefer Bredesen essentially 60-40 to Blackburn, and men prefer Blackburn 60-40 to Bredesen.

Women will turn out this year. Based on this data, I certainly hope they do.

They won't be happy until there are public executions of their perceived enemies. A Hispanic baby done to death would be perfect. But as with all addictions, the rush would wear off. Then it's mass executions.

Trump's primary (only?) political skill is his ability to enrage the people who make his base feel stupid and ignorant. It's the Fuck You Administration.

The people who make his base feel stupid and ignorant is themselves. The self-loathing at the heart of white racial panic is amazing.

Wonder how many of these Astros fans are going to be at the upcoming Trump rally in the Toyota Center. They won't have their baseball team to cheer for any longer, it appears.

Hill has denounced the ad, which was paid for by a North Carolina group called "Black Americans for the President's Agenda."
    That's where it gets strange.
Looks like the group is a small PAC (the FEC says it has only raised $142,000, all of it from private donors and none of it from Arkansas) headed up by some third-party also-ran from North Carolina named Vernon Robinson. Robinson is black.
Not exactly your stereotypical MAGA hat wearing redneck.
