One way to is look at it is how much of the misinformation that was spread was shared by those it targeted.

People like old man me in flyoverland, someone who has a phone and laptop I use to get news from the world outside of my bumfuck midwest. I couldn't be targeted in the very recent past like I am now. Hell, whoever had a quality direct fucking mail list was golden back in the day. Now I have it all in my hands, and immediate delivery of the targeted message to me to boot.

If the targets shared lies spread on social media then it could be said the lies influenced their thinking.

Maybe I'm not making my case well. In any event, I do believe it can be tracked, agree to disagree.
