President Trump: The NEW one and only politics thread

Remember the news reports in the late 70s/early 80s about African killer bees that were supposedly moving up from South America?

That’s what this whole caravan story reminds me of.

 

I'll say this for the GOP - they're like DJs the way they seemlessly segue from one conspiracy/outrage to the next.

 

"Invasion" is definitely the talking point for the Fox News talking heads right now. They're all coming to kill us, and if you don't support complete and total shutdown of the border and the building of the wall, you're complicit in the potential murder of thousands of Americans. That's the fear tactic they're selling right now. It's fucking gross.

 

That's one thing that bugs me. They're never continually called out on it. They say somethIng stupid, they get asked about it, they give some stupid talking point, then it's forgotten about.

The GOP voting crowd doesn't care. We gave the internet to a whole bunch of not-technically-savvy people and never taught them how to do one ounce of fact checking before they hit "share."

Yesterday on my Facebook wall it was a picture of Cleveland's championship celebration, framed by "Here's a picture of Donald Trump's Houston Rally! I bet the media won't share this!"

 

Doesn't reflect well on Justice Thomas, does it?

 

Doesn't matter.

You could put up the original post and the new post and show exactly what is going on in those photos, and at least two-thirds of the GOP crowd will respond with, "I don't believe your search engine lies!" or "SOROOOSSSSSS!" or - at best - "OK but still, it's true!"
