I voted for Jill Stein, but not because of anybody being mean to Bernie. I agree with the Green Party platform, and believe the end of the two-party system is among the long-term solutions to our political mess.

These crybabies you talk about didn't prevent Hillary Clinton from winning the popular vote quite handily. I think "a big part of the blame" lies with the Electoral College, but that's too complicated of an argument for most people to grasp.

No joke. If this was the new Hiaasen novel I'd be disappointed that he was just reheating his previous work.

Took that long for the largest inaugural crowd ever to break up.

But more likely was reloaded from the original posting.

DHS Agent: "Mr. Sayoc, do you have anything to say for yourself?"
    Sayoc: "Pardon me?"

And knowing what we know about him, not a single one is surprising.

No - but arguments such as the one from Gee that I was responding to feed such a perception. Which plays into the hands of Trump/GOP, which is why they are making such a big deal out of this caravan, because it forces the left into arguments whose logic follows a direct path to open borders. Gee himself didn’t say let everybody in, but 5,000 people is pretty damn close to everybody, as far as optics are concerned. So, if we let all of them in, then what about the next 5,000? Where is the cut off point? That’s silly, you say. But answer the question. Most people would consider 5,000 silly. That is the way most voters think. Trump/GOP understand that the vast majority of voters think the USA perfectly within its rights to deny entry to a swarm of thousands of foreigners. You are appealing to a set of laws and norms that the other side is arguing are broken/untenable, and Trump is making such a big show of it because he knows he has the stronger argument.
