Rangers hire Dodgers third-base coach Chris Woodward as manager. I thought they pulled the trigger on Banister way too soon. Their farm system is depleted now because Jon Daniels went for it in the early part of the decade to make disastrous trades for pennant pushes (Matt Garza, Ryan Dempster) and they got pennies on the dollar for the Cole Hamels trade this year.

 

Gold gloves are announced. Sox and Braves each had three to lead the leagues. Rizzo and Freeman tied at first.
