I am a pretty frequent donor to Democratic candidates. Nothing big, but I’ll throw a few dollars if I like a candidate. So the past few months have been an avalanche of calls.

Why I don’t get is that I’ve been home for less than 90 minutes tonight and have gotten 8 fundraising calls on the home phone. There is no way that they can do ad buys this quickly so it seems to me to be simply greed.

I'd place the odds at about 3% that we see some real, true fuckery with regards to tomorrow's elections. Either "oops, the polls were off by 10 points and we accidentally deleted the vote servers (a la Georgia 2016) so you can't double-check, sorry" or "We have Information that says that millions of illegal voters participated and we are now declaring martial law and refusing to seat the new Congress." I don't think the left in this country is prepared to deal with that, because they don't want to even acknowledge the possibility.

Yes, I know, Comrade Gritty Stain has the crazy theories to go with his crazy eyes.

I will say that the Kemp stuff in Georgia really depresses me. It’s like he gets off on making it harder for people to vote.

How about improving your message instead of making the hurdles higher?

They have no message. They have no plans. Except to take away health care to pay for unnecessary corporate tax cuts.

His rep is that he loves newspapers, though. The last of the moguls who lives for the smell of ink, the lurid headlines, etc etc.

So I guess the devil sometimes appears in the guise of a publisher not afraid of paying overtime.

What can I say? I worked at the Herald for 20 years, eight under Rupert. Without him, there wouldn't have been a Herald. Also, the checks always cleared. Has he been a malignant force in Western society? Hell yes. On the other hand, my mortgage is paid off and my kids are out of college just about debt free.

He, personally, is more responsible for the destruction of the journalism industry worldwide than any other person. What he really needs is a ball bat to the skull.
