Pennsylvania just easily re-elected a democrat governor and state senator despite the challenger being tied to the hip with Trump.

I can only speak to where I live in PA, but Marty Nothstein got clobbered running as Trump lite over the past few months. Anti-Immigration. The "Caravan." Fake news. He will protect pre-existing conditions but never saying how. Negative ad after negative ad against his opponent but rarely ever said what he would actually do as a representative. And he still lost by double figures defending a seat that was republican when Charlie Dent said 'fuck this, I'm out.' Clinton won the district by 1 point in 2016 (which I think in every race is being somewhat overplayed), but it plays here because for it to swing from 1 point to double figures tells me that the voters in my region wised the fuck up a bit.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned really yet. We've been saying the Dems needed to get younger and develop a bench. Last night, they started doing so.

I'm just gobsmacked that Jon Tester may lose his seat to a carpetbagger from out of state.

Warren is fine on a national stage as an eloquent speaker with decent ideas who can get a base fired up, but not as a national candidate. Pig Vomit would eat her up with nickname after nickname, and then you'd eventually get that POS Hannity calling her them on stage at some rally where afterwards some low level Fox News exec would kinda sorta admonish him while looking down and asking for more porridge at the same time. I think she could more than hold her own against PV in debate and clobber him on issues, but the right would make her into Clinton 2.0 - a boogeywoman who should be locked up because she lied on her Harvard Law School entrance form or some bullshit like that.

The professional race-watchers seem to think Tester will pull it out.

A little less than 3K down with 84 percent in. I wonder how much of reservation totals have come in. They'll be heavy in his favor - I'd imagine 80-20. If they're mostly in he's probably cooked.

One thing that will help in Michigan is a proposal passed which strengthens voting rights after the Republican Legislature tried to ban straight-ticket voting

All of those. All. Clinton clobbered Orange Fuckface in all of the debates and nobody cared. And I don’t want anyone still triggered by a joke made two years ago.

There is no conceivable Democratic candidate that wouldn't have this happen to them. It's part of the package of American politics. Speculation about 2020 is fun, but of course useless. The one thing I would ask is, what's gonna happen in the next two years that'll make things BETTER for Trump. The economic expansion may continue, but it's up against its natural bounds. Will Trump work with Dems on infrastructure? Ha. Ha. Ha. We don't have a major war right now. Can Trump avoid one?
