Provided daddy is not indicted, too.

    He can pardon himself, right?

In fairness, Bob Menedez was re-elected by Dems less than a year after he stood trial on federal corruption charges, to say nothing of the underage prostitution allegations.

It's never been done. Then again, he's quite a pioneer when it comes to politics, so it'd make sense if he's the first sitting president to be indicted and to then try to pardon himself.

Every candidate with a criminal law scandal won. Menendez, Hunter, Collins. As we see, a bipartisan phenomenon. How nice to see the country coming together on something.

    It is Flake's seat.

Not sure about that Thursday 5pm announcement. I haven't heard that. We tend to bumble our way through vote counts here, so Thursday may be optimistic.

Oh yeah. Menendez is creepy on top of being a dope, but Bob Hugin also has his demons (although not underage ones). Difference was Menendez went through a trial and came out still intact. Collins and Hunter will be in the fight of their lives within a year or so and I'm sure the people in those districts will just send a repub to replace them in special elections (although both races were close).

I think on the whole last night was better for the Democrats than it first appears. Lost a couple of painful, high-profile races, but they were always crazy long shots. Are farther behind in the Senate, but cruised to claim the House, took some serious state power, and dominated the popular vote. All with the Republicans riding the high of a booming (on the surface) economy.

Never mind Mueller. The economy tips even a little, and 2020 will be a walk.

Political expectation games are so dumb.

Democrats won the national vote by 7-8 points last night. This resulted in retaking the House of Representatives, 7 governorships and six state legislatures.

Republicans widened their lead in the Senate (but lost almost 2/3rds of total Senate races) that they already held and flipped nothing of consequence.

This is being spun as a mixed night.
