This entire line of questioning is based on the bizarre belief that the job of holding the President accountable is some kind of pie, completely finite, so that by acknowledging it is in part the job of the press, we are somehow taking it away from Congress, judges and voters.

Much like when the NRA and Ronald Reagan rushed to pass gun control laws when the Black Panthers showed up at the California statehouse wielding firearms.

I wonder how he'll respond to his own subpoena from House Judiciary in January. This guy is gonna wind up needing one of Trump's pardons.

There is no comparison between a sportswriter and somebody who is covering the White House.

What type of questions should reporters ask the President? Maybe you would like them to dumb it down like a press conferences after sporting events. If the reporter is not there to challenge the President on lie after lie, why even be there?

If a liberal president was caught in lie after lie I would have no problem with right wing media doing the same thing, none at all.

When Bill Clinton gave his first post-Monica press conference he was tortured. And he deserved it.

So it's a much more important job then?

Reporter: Tries to rapid-fire some extra questions and claim it's a continuation of original question at press conference while he has the mic

White House: Releases doctored video falsely accusing reporter of assault, revokes credentials

    This is roughly analogous to:

Car: Performs a slight rolling stop at a 4-way

Maniac: Comes flying in out of nowhere with an ax, begins chopping up people in the car

Anyone focusing on the former and not the latter is a dishonest person and should be shunned from participation in society.

I didn't defend anything Sanders has done.

I just don't think Acosta's very good. I've posted that before now, too, on the "talk about" thread.

Your dream of shunning ceremonies may come to fruition in America. Give it time. about 15-20 years. Shaming sessions, too. Right out of Mao's old cultural revolution days.

Catcher Chris Christie looks on as Columbia High School celebrates walk-off county tournament championship win vs. Livingston, 1979. Facebook grab, not my photo. Note: I later worked with Bob Ley at Suburban Cablevision, truck visible in background. Also, there were three (!) future MLB draft picks on that Livingston public team.
