This is my question as well. What makes them think that their past will not be scrutinized?

Whitaker is a low-level shithead. The one that has astounded me the most, from the get go, was Wilbur Ross. He is an out and out fraud. In the mold of Trump. The thing is, he never gets indicted. There have been SEC actions, there have been lawsuits, but he always skates. And the narrative in appointing him was that he is some kind of Wall Street legend, a rich person who can't be corrupted needs to be commerce secretary, etc. It was laughable, but this is the bullshit that America signed up for.

For anyone interested, there was a guy at Forbes who tried to quantify just how big a fraud Ross is. But it got little attention. It's complete with him lying to them for years about his net worth, a la the Trump playbook. And that doesn't mention his cheapness, his constant theft, his overall dishonesty. But no one really cares. So you should get it.

My mother who was a bigoted homophobe ususaly voted democrat because of S,S, and union--self interest of course--but the last couple years she listened to some levin or levine guy on nighttime radio and she was starting to repeat some of the Obama conspiracies. I could have seen her easily falling for trump, but she is dead. Those channels, tv and radio are truly like a jim jones affect.

Would they expect scrutiny and for it not to matter, perhaps?

It's funny, I still assume that wont happen to trump, even after just 4. The get that look from hard, grueling work and worry and the weight of the responsibility, he does not have that problem. However he does look like he has put on a few pounds.

Bingo. In the case of Trump, and a handful of the bullshit artists he is closest with, they have made lives of being in the limelight. ... and even with whatever scrutiny they face, nothing ever sticking to them. They will just lie, bullshit, change the narrative. And move on to their next dishonest thing.

When you get used to that pattern, I imagine you start to see yourself as bulletproof.

Late night AM radio is truly a scary experience anymore when you hear the replay of screechers like Savage and Dana then the moonbats like Noory (who has more and more people on from InfoWars) and Clyde Lewis, who has somehow stumbled into national syndication.

I am sure I will hate myself for asking but, really? So Trump sent 5000 troops with potentially 10,000 more on the way because there was no "danger"? So we should not be frightened by this "invasion"? Why do you think Trump went this route if not to protect us from murderers, rapists, leprosy, smallpox etc? Those all sound like reasons to be frightened to me. Was he, dare I say a liar?

The only problem with this plan is that McCarthy loathes Jordan. It also indicates what I think of as Trump's Giuliani problem. He thinks being an effective advocate means yelling real loud at every opportunity.

And when you get called on it — or indicted — it's suddenly a witch hunt.

Right-wing radio station in my city replaced John Batchelor's show with Mark Levin. It's like replacing Aaron Rodgers with Nathan Peterman.
