I guess my concern here is in the chilling effect. Sexual assault is already under-reported.

If we make the process more onerous for the victim (or "accuser" if you prefer), that gets worse, not better. And schools have always been reluctant to bring in real cops.

It’s a legitimate concern, but I’d argue the “real cops” created the chilling effect. The way sexual assaults are handled in police departments - and the low number that go to trial because of reluctant prosecutors - deters reporting.

That said, I get why prosecutors are reluctant. The real chilling effect is a not guilty verdict.

 

He's gone through a couple of two or three day periods where he hasn't and it's always a sign of deep, deep trouble, like after Charlottesville.
