Oh come on. That's only if they don't know anything about baseball. If they don't, they don't care that Babe Ruth got the Medal of Freedom. I learned that fact when I was six years old. The point is, it's something everyone with even a marginal interest in baseball knows. If Trump didn't know, and that's usually what "people don't know" means in Trumpspeak, OK, I don't hold that against him. But it makes him sound dumb to lots and lots of people.

But he'll let them shoot at anyone who throws rocks at them.

Ok I’ll walk that back a bit. It does make him sound dumb to lots and and lots of people. I did roll my eyes at the “people don’t know that” part. But I was addressing Steak’s “nobody doesn’t know this” part, as I bet there are tons of people who have an interest in baseball and didn’t know he was a pitcher. They may not have been watching the ceremony, but they exist.

I would wager many many people under a certain age don't know who Babe Ruth is.

And don't forget Ruth's famous retort when a reporter pointed out earned more than the President.

    "I had a better year."

According to Robert Creamer's biography. ... In 1920, Warren Harding wanted Ruth to act as a draw to get people to his front-porch campaign. Ruth's first response: "Hell no, I'm a Democrat." Ruth's second response, "How much are they offering?" For $4,000 Ruth appeared on Harding's front porch.

I'd rather have troops sent to the border for a stupid reason where they are less likely to get hurt than sent somewhere stupid where they are more likely to get hurt.

Trump taught at least three people something.
