The Patriots have beaten three divisional leaders with a combined record of 23-7. Their three losses are to teams with a combined record of 12-18. Go figure.

I think the Skins will be fine with McCoy and they will march into Jerry World on Thursday and sew up the division. McCoy has done it before (in 2014).

Race for second wild card in AFC (leader in bold): Ravens (5-5), Dolphins (5-5), Colts (5-5), Bengals (5-5), Titans (5-5).
Race for second wild card in NFC: Vikings (5-4-1), Cowboys (5-5), Packers (4-5-1).

I say this often, but it seems especially true this year. In any given NFL season there are about five really good teams and five really bad ones. The other 22, regardless of their record, are somewhere in the middle and not that far apart in talent level.
Hell, the 49ers are 2-8 and have lost four games by four points or less. That's a handful of plays away from being a wild card team, even though we all know they're not very good.

Vegas will have to cook up some big numbers to get anyone to play those teams on the road vs. a 3 seed.

Just realized, if the season ended today the Patriots would be playing on wild card weekend for the first time since 2009.

So eerie. All that was missing was for Smith's game to be on a Monday Night.
