Wilson even had a governor of Indiana as his VP.

I don't know what responsibility the US has in the Khashoggi murder. It didn't happen on US soil. That said - that this President is so weak he bows down to the Saudis is not a good look.

In this case, I don’t know if it’s as much about being weak as it is having business interests in Saudi Arabia and allied countries.

I get that. I knew when the story broke that it wouldn't amount to much unless the Saudis or US pulled out of the arms deal.

Coming from a military family I am damned tired of seeing veterans used as political capital - really by both parties but most egregiously by this idiot wing of the GOP.

While most agree that Trump's response is horrible what would be the correct response?

Kashoggi was a legal resident of the US, so the US government has the same obligation to protect him as it would a citizen. Black letter law. As for the correct response, "our intelligence community has determined that Prince Whatshisname is responsible for ordering this murder. Therefore I am issuing the following sanctions under the Magnitsky Act and freezing his US assets." Then, through back channels, a quiet reminder that two can play at the murder game and that the Prince's untimely demise would be very popular in the US.

At the end of the day, perhaps we don’t go crazy, but we can exert our influence with Saudi Arabia as they need us. It’s staggering that he would immediately go to smearing the dead and dismissing the conclusions of our intelligence agencies with a “who will ever know what the truth about anything is” explanation. All to justify made up claims about purchases and jobs.

Quoting Bunk to Omar — it makes me sick, motherfucker, how far we done fell.
