Fucko will respond: "I know for an absolute fact that Mohammed bin Salman did not originate the idea to kill Jamal Khashoggi."

    How do you know?

    "I can't tell you."

    Yeah.

If you're going to go all-in criticizing the civics mastery of a freshman congresswoman from the NY-14th, you better not have voted for Donald Trump, the dumbest man alive.

In the same way that if you were loudly appalled by Bill Clinton's sexcapades, you better not have voted for the confessed pussy-grabber.

    The hypocrisy undoes your argument.

Looks like we found the comedian for the next WHCA dinner.

Well, if we're going to narrow the choice to those episodes, the choice was between the confessed pussy grabber and the woman who attacked the women whose pussies that her husband grabbed. Lose-lose.

That is actually a lot funnier than any part of her routine at the dinner was. At least in my opinion.

I don't know if the choice of Ron Chernow for the dinner this year was discussed on here, but I really liked this. A lot.

Obviously, most decent people are appalled by the fact that we have a president so hostile to the truth, rule of law and the basic freedoms our country was built on. But too many people are either ignorant or don't value their basic freedoms enough to understand why allowing their erosion is dangerous.

Trump's behavior has done subtle damage to the role a free press / freedom of speech plays in a truly free society, so I agree it was important to not go on with business as usual, where the dinner is an attempt for the correspondents and the president they cover to break bread together and have lighthearted fun. This president is something different, something that would have been unthinkable in the past.

Someone who can give some historical context to people, and presumably help others understand why Trump's behavior is very dangerous at its worst, is something that can't hurt right now. There are way too many people who aren't alarmed enough by banana-republic-dictator-sounding, "enemy of the people" stuff and seem too ignorant to understand that it is him doing it because he is a corrupt bullshit artist who attacks anyone who might scrutinize him and reveal truths about him.
