Ohio State gets to torch Northwestern in the BTCG next week.

The committee will never, never, ever select a non P-5 team as long as its a four-team playoff.

The way their season is going they will lose 20-17

You almost wonder if Ohio State would have gotten more credit with the win over the Blue if they didn't make them look like total crap. You win 27-16? Strong. The final score makes you rethink the entire narrative of the season.

If you were a casual fan, would Alabama v Georgia/OSU be appointment viewing or would UCF, the ultimate Cinderella, be appointment viewing?

I would take UCF over Oklahoma too. Probably not the Knights over Ohio State though. I feel like Ohio State's defensive issues are a little more fixable than Oklahoma's. If Ohio State needed to play good defense I thin they could figure it out. Oklahoma, however, can't stop anyone.

Without Milton, UCF is unlikely to be appointment viewing.

The committee doesn't give a shit about casual fans or ratings, as they proved with the New Year's Eve fiascoes. They are protecting the financial interests of their bosses, the p-5 schools. They have no other interest.

I don’t think the casual fan cares if Milton shows up or Dante or Virgil

They really need to expand the playoff to six. Top two get byes. Two play-ins for the final four the week after conference championship weekend.

If you are going to have 6 teams and maintain the illusion that the conference championships matters, then each of the 5 conference champions get a birth and 1 wild card from anywhere else. If Notre Dame doesn’t like it, join a conference and split your revenues.

They need to do something with this playoff and quit pussyfooting around. Either make 8+ or go back to the old, shitty BCS system. I trust Jeff Sagarin's computers more than the committee.
