They did, hence the impeachment option.

What they didn't anticipate, however, was the other two branches of government serving as cover for him.

Well, impeachment is designed really to remove a president from office for extreme political malfeasance. There's still no remedy for blatant criminal misconduct.

To use the well flogged rhetorical example, if Fucko set up on Fifth Avenue and started killing people, there's nothing legally which could be done about it right now. Because nobody believes that a president would ever really do that.

What happens if this week, someone asks Fucko, "Do you believe that Mohammed bin Salman did not order the killing of Jamal Khashoggi?," and he says, "I know for a fact he didn't," so they ask, "how do you know?," and he says, "Because I ordered it."

And they ask, "You ordered it?"
    "You bet I did."
    "Why?"
"Because he was writing stuff for the Washington Post that pissed me off. (By happy coincidence it pissed off MBS too.) I wanted to send a message."
"So you ordered him dead? Just like that?"
    "Just like that."

    What happens then is nothing.

Except the standards for impeachment are all criminal matters: “The President, Vice President and all Civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.”

I'm pretty sure killing people on Fifth Avenue is covered by "high crimes and misdemeanors."

In a new biography of Trump it will be revealed that Donald’s uncle Johan, Fred Trump’s brother, died in a concentration camp in 1943.

He fell out of a guard tower

Thanks. That’s been puzzling me. The President is the head of the Administrative branch, and DOJ falls within that branch, but the President has no say in what DOJ’s priorities should be?

Ethically, sure, stay away. Post-Watergate, sure. But the DOJ cannot operate on its own. And it can’t be run by Congress (only funded).

I’m saying this in general, regardless of which party or person is in the White House.

Presidents and AGs establish priorities for the DOJ, say white collar crime, PEDs, government corruption, Wall Street, human trafficking, hate crimes (or likewise can demphasize certain crimes). US Attorneys have a pile of 100 cases on their desk? They tackle the priorities first and the other ones go to the bottom of the stack.
They pick the forests - not the trees.

If older people should get out of the work force and let the young uns have their jobs, why should they have to wait until retirement age? Any kid can have my job right now. Just pay me off enough to cover the years I'm not gonna work between now and retirement. I'm all for it.

Lets all watch this clip in context and tell me he's not saying Americans are hateful, angry and racist. Am I wrong? Can anybody give me a fair interpretation?
