The sloppy thinking is drawing a causal connection between the two. There are literally millions of AR's in circulation, less than .0001% of them have been used in mass shootings. The issue isn't the gun, an inanimate object. Over 99% of them have never been used in a crime.

By that logic, you can't stop me from using my body to kill my neighbor. If I do it with my body, ie I choke him to death, I should be allowed to, right? The issue is whether the fetus in the womb is a human or not. If it is, then I CAN tell women what they can or cannot do with their bodies. So I CAN force my beliefs on women, which is true for about 99% of our laws out there, which makes the "forcing your beliefs on others" argument stupid.

I'm pretty sure we're past the "Denial" phase and likely through the "Anger" part - seems we're somewhere between "Depression" and "plea-Bargaining".
