You have to imagine Edwin will eventually be traded.

The Indians had to give up Yandy Diaz in order to get that done, which is a steep price, but Terry Francona and management never seemed sold on Diaz being a guy they wanted to trust as an everyday player.

Edwin's batspeed is getting sloooooooooooow and he's almost exclusively a mistake-only hitter, so Santana is an upgrade for the Indians at first base/DH.

Yeah, I don't see swapping out Santana and Edwin is anything worse than a wash. Edwin might produce a little more as a hitter, but Santana plays a good first base so that evens it out. Plus he can play the outfield in a pinch.

Yandy Diaz is a perfectly fine player who has no power and is a defensive liability. Bauers will have a better career and might even be better already.

I think I was just enamored with the biceps. HOW CAN A GUY THAT JACKED NOT BE A POWER HITTER?
