But it would be "Ricky," not "Rickey."

That might be the trade with the most crappy assets ever swapped.

Also, every time I watched Homer Bailey pitch this season, all I could think is "This man makes $21 million! Holy shit! And next year he'll make $23 million! Holy shit! And then he'll get $5 million so the Reds don't have to pay him $25 million! Holy shit!"

I know I'm getting old because some of the people in these trades are starting to sound like computer generated names from a simulation game.

I'd never heard of Homer Bailey before today. I've looked at his career stats and don't know why or how he would get a contract that paid him more than $20 mil a season. Did someone run the wrong algorithm? Not carry the 1?

Interesting that both the Dodgers and Reds were trying to trade for Kluber a week ago. Wonder if there's any connection here.

I have a hard time believing the Reds are really making this deal to take on a net of roughly $20 million in additional salary for 2019. All three acquired players are entering their walk years. Are they now going to flip all three? Could a three- or four-way deal with these players not be worked out?

Now I can hate the Dodgers a little less.

I'm a little surprised you hadn't heard of him at all. The guy has had decent seasons as a starting pitcher in the majors, though you are correct in pointing out that he is grossly overpaid. Check out the 2012 and 2013 seasons. That's when Bailey, a former quality prospect, gave people the impression that he was worth big money.

    Plus Bailey threw two no-hitters.
