*'Cause, you know, I'll take 'em if you're not going eat them.*

*Do you want my fries? Just ask for them.*

*No, I'm just saying if you're not going to eat them ...*

Didn't know Toby Keith had a song in "The Mule." Apparently it stemmed from a conversation Keith had with Eastwood at a golf tournament. So says Taste of Country website:
I found the video and I'm pretty sure in doing so I located my aunt at the table behind Dianne Wiest.

She got less for being an extra than her dog did for some Mahindra tractor commercials.

The studio completely screwed up the marketing for that movie. I really like it, but I don't blame anyone who was confused by what they were paying to see.

That MIB trailer looks insanely good.

When I first heard there would be an MIB sequel, I rolled my eyes a bit. Then when I found out Hemsworth, Neeson and Thompson would be in it, my enthusiasm for it ramped up quite a bit.

And yes, that was a great trailer.

Spotlight, for the first time. Outstanding. Terrific cast. If there has been a better movie about journalism since All The President's Men, I've either forgotten about it or haven't seen it.

The new Spiderman movie is fantastic; feels like you're flipping through a comic book.

I wasn't going to see this, but I keep hearing so much great stuff. I need to talk Little OOP into it while we're off this week (her with school and me recovering from minor surgery).

The movie is great and slightly fails for the same reason: If you've followed the Spider Man comics (or the extended Marvel universe) there is a lot for you. The causal fan will certainly enjoy it (the movie is really good) but there's some assumed knowledge that I think will leave some people in the dark. I only knew Kingpin's motivation because I've watched Dare Devil on Netflix. I kind of wish I read the comics so I could get what I'm sure is a ton of references that I missed. But that's separating fly shit from the pepper as my mother would say.

I've been to the movies so much this weekend. Saw Spider man (see above), The Mule (decent), Aquaman (meh) and On The Basis Of Sex (the RBG movie) (pretty good).

Mule was better than I thought it would be but was very much Clint Eastwood being Clint Eastwood. Having watched too many drug shows like Narcos, I call bull on a lot of the story but it was entertaining.

Aquaman can be summed up with three movies: Splash, Journey to the Center Of The Earth and any King Arthur movie. Action was good. There was some funny moments but the fact I was thinking more of the movies it was ripping off than the actual movie was a problem. Honestly I could also throw in the third Pirates of the Caribbean movie but I won't go there.

The RBG movie was pretty good. A little color by numbers but the story didn't get too convoluted and the acting was really good. I think they had someone who actually knew what they were talking about assisting on the 14th Amendment arguments because there were really subtle things the actors said that really stood out (as someone who just got done teaching about this subject).
