Yields tended to be in the normal range of about 42 bushels per acre in Douglas and Franklin counties, Wenger said. The bad news for farmers is that soybean prices have fallen steeply as a result of the international trade war that followed President Donald Trump’s March decision to impose tariffs on Chinese steel and aluminum imports.

The Trump administration announced in July it would make $12 billion in relief available to farmers to offset falling commodity prices because of the trade war. That package included a $1.65 per bushel payment for soybeans. However, the per-bushel tariff payment does not offset the decline in the market price for soybeans.

On Friday, the truck cash bid for soybeans in Kansas City was $8.45 per bushel. According to the Market Investors website, the prices of soybeans at the start of March was more than $10.50 per bushel.

Yeah but Brown is no Trump, who would rip her with Pocahontas-related insults again and again. Warren is far from being the strongest Democratic candidate.

    Well, you got me.

You got a whole five "likes" for this post. This is going to cause me to reconsider my whole life.

Now, for the rest of you, if you think @typefitter is basically a good guy, and loyal friend, who is also very insecure, and a little ignorant, who craves validation, and hates any disagreement with what he thinks, throw me a like.

(But it only counts for 75% of a like lol so you'll need a power like that's worth 1.25 to balance it out)

We here at Leopard Farms put all our hopes and dreams into the tiny hands of a deranged city-dweller who wouldn't know the difference between Archer Daniels Midland and Anne Archer.

I don’t think the existence of collusion precludes the possibility that Putin has been playing Trump the entire time. It’s like saying that there’s no way someone owed a loan shark money because they broke the person’s fingers.

We have no idea who the strongest Democratic candidate would be. Warren might well not be. I doubt she'll get the nomination but that's on her age, not that Trump will call her names. He called a lot of people a lot of names last fall. Didn't help much. For that matter, in 2016 Trunp only won because the third and fourth party candidates got six percent of the vote between them. He needs that to happen again, which it could, but also could not.

You really don't want farm subsidies to end - if you enjoy eating.

That said, my visit to MAGAland for Christmas was interesting. The farmers are not happy with Trump. Sure, they like the idea of a wall and they enjoy it when starts ripping on the media and liberals (the same, in their eyes). But some of the smaller farmers are looking at bust years - thanks to the trade war with China as crop prices plummeted and steel prices have caused the prices of equipment to go up.

Does anyone believe trump is doing this because he has thought out the options, weighed the risks of each and then tried to anticipate the reactions to each option and a counter action by the US if needed.
Or he just said Fuck it. Let them have it.

I'm not liking anything in this long running and petty waste of message board space. Take it to DM's.
