The SOTU is set for Jan. 29. By then people will have started not getting IRS refunds as well as government employees going without pay.

If Fatfuck doesn't get it settled by the morning of Feb. 1, you can expect nationwide general strikes to start.

"Trump is stealing your tax refund" is easy to remember.

 

The W-2 deadline isn't until Jan. 31. I've yet to see a company send mine out before the last week of January.

At the earliest refund checks would start arriving around Valentine's Day.

 

The Outnumbered stunt is even more offensive when you learn the "hook" for the show is it is one male and four female commentators - they call the male commentator "One Lucky Guy" like's he's going to have a five-way on the couch.
I do understand why mouthbreathers and other backbenchers go on FNC - it's their chance to stick up for Trump and bypass House or Senate Leadership since they really have no juice otherwise.

 

I got mine the second-third week of January for several years.

If you're e-filing, it's possible to get your return in a few days later. Of course not many will, but some will and the number will go up every week.

And the refund process will be backed up as long as it takes to settle the shutdown.

Friend of mine has been pissed that my district actually flipped blue to red in 2018 (self-outing alert) and calling his supporters fascists and such. I know a little better, in that as a freshman Congressman in the minority, he won’t be relevant in this Congress if he set himself on fire on the floor.
