    If he gets this state of emergency, what's next? A state of emergency to cancel the election next year? Don't put it outside the realm of possibility. He thinks he can do anything and so far no one has stopped him from doing what he wants to do.

    From what I've read, all the chaos at the border is the product of a government agency's incompetence in dealing with asylum seekers. If they handled the situation like past administrations, they wouldn't be dealing with hundreds of people in lock-up, separated families etc. Trump touts the "crisis" headline in the WP or NYT and doesn't cite that the crisis is how the government is handling the situation, not the situation itself (with immigration down significantly along the southern border).
