That is one of the reasons President Trump is happy to let the shutdown continue. Despite problems like this, less government also speaks to his base.

 

I think that this is completely true - and it is why the networks should offer the Democrats matching time.

 

Lots of folks saying that the networks shouldn’t give Trump free airtime to peddle his lies, unchallenged, the American public.

So, what do you think of the Times giving an op-ed to an autocratic leader, who imprisons journalists, spreads his own lies?

 

CBS says it will carry the Democrats' response immediately after the address. Trump expected to take 10 minutes, response expected to be 5 minutes.

 

Don't misconstrue this as a defense of Erdogan, but which do you think will contain more lies: That Op-Ed or Trump's speech tonight?

 

So, the issue is the volume of the lies?

 

You, a Trump support, are willing to concede the possibility that the President of the United States is no more truthful than the corrupt and perhaps evil president of Turkey.

I'd say THAT is the problem.
