That conservative media is basically a daisy chain of self reinforcing hate. Nd the conservative media is state run media. Hannity is a de facto member of the administration as is Rush Limbaugh since trump personally called rush to assure him he was going to shit down the government

You mean Petro Poroshenko, who got op-ed space in the NYT last month?

Parks are being destroyed, people are dying, and no one's in charge.

JFC. The first part is an exaggeration, but the second part is just a silly scare tactic.

Shall we go through the deaths that have occurred, and maybe you, or someone else, can point out how they would have been prevented, absent a partial government shutdown.

Besides, if you don't want to die, just go check out the clock tower at the Trump Hotel in D.C. It's still open, and staffed by Park Rangers, who will keep you safe.

Here's the headline in the article that is linked to in the article you posted, about the deaths in the parks:

7 people have died in national parks since the shutdown began. But that's not unusual.

In the 16 days since the government shutdown began and more than 21,000 National Park Service employees were furloughed, seven visitors to national parks have died.

Three of those deaths were accidental, including that of a 14-year-old girl who fell off Arizona's Horseshoe Bend on December 24. Four other deaths are believed to be suicides, according to Mike Litterst, the National Park Service acting chief spokesperson and chief of public affairs.

But though tragic on their own, the tally of deaths is not out of the ordinary for the expansive National Park Service, which sees an average of six deaths per week, Litterst said. The deaths include accidents like drownings, falls, and motor vehicle crashes, as well as medical incidents such as heart attacks, he said.

Overall, that's a miniscule fraction of the more than 330 million people who visited the 418 sites in the National Park System in 2017, according to National Park Service data.

Sounds like the shutdown has cut the average number of deaths per week in national parks by about one half.

Think how many lives we can save if the shutdown drags on.

I actually agree with YF here. People are trying to force a narrative that the government shutdown is the reason why TSA workers are calling out sick and why people are dying in national parks, when in reality, people always call in sick after the holidays and people die in national parks all the time. It's not like there are rangers babysitting everyone who visits a park. The headlines are misleading, and truths are buried in the copy. Not a great look.

    Agreed.

There's enough problems occurring associated with the shutdown; we don't need to make up Hannity/Limbaugh-style fake problems.
