They also are not having anything forced on them by the government. I don't know how this works in this case, but normally schools make up the days lost to a strike.

Edit: I just read part of the article you linked, which is probably more than you've done. Schools will be open, so parents can send their children as usual. The students clearly will not get anything close to the level of instruction they normally get, but blaming that entirely on the teachers is lazy and inaccurate. Do you even know why they are going on strike? Did you bother to investigate if the district has made a reasonable offer? Nah. You just assumed the teachers were in the wrong and thought you could use this to justify President Trump's mistakes.

The comparison you are trying to make doesn't come close to holding up. President Trump created a shutdown for a project he couldn't get funded when Republicans controlled both houses of congress. He's doing it now because he thinks he can blame the Democrats and there are probably plenty people stupid enough to believe it.

And federal employees will get paid for the days they are missing.

What does this have to do with the pain these families will endure now due to the teachers’ strike?

Once again, Mr. Coffee sets a bag of flaming dog shit on the porch and then takes glee at watching the usual people coming out and stomping on it in anger.

And it happens over and over and over and over. He keeps working the rope-a-dope and lures them in each time.

    You gotta' respect it.

After all these years of interneting, I still struggle to understand the joy in being intentionally wrong in order to anger people. Where is the joy in that?

I'm more blown away by the people who have literally argued with the guy for nearly a decade and haven't caught on. Even I've learned to how to steer my racist uncle into safe subjects at Thanksgiving dinner.

Funny how our old pal @YankeeFan has oodles of concern for parents, teachers and students in one of the most progressive counties in the country...and yet is oddly silent on the fact that THE PRESIDENT IS INVESTIGATED BY THE FBI FOR BEING A SUSPECTED RUSSIAN AGENT!

Hey, you got a like from YF! Good for you, buddy. You're clearly on the right side of the issue when you get a like from him.

I don't need people to kiss my ass. Weirdly, however, I don't like assholes. There are plenty of people I love who also post elsewhere. That's their right, of course, but if I'm being honest, I sometimes feel like it validates some pretty terrible behaviour.

Do you know how hard it is to get banned from this place? Do you think that sort of thing happens on a whim, or for extremely good reason?

Nobody said farmers are dumb - which is why the guys who actually work the dirt are pretty pissed off Trump is tanking their business right now.
