This is what you file in the "two wrongs don't make a right" column. Nobody in the political groups arguably responsible for causing this shutdown should be taking unnecessary trips on the taxpayer's dime at the same time that they're telling around 800,000 federal workers who had nothing to with causing it that there's no money to pay their salaries.

Amazing how tone deaf our politicians can be about that sort of thing. On BOTH sides. Melania can perhaps claim ignorance. But Pelosi should be savvy enough to know better.

 

No, she can't. She can't just say, "Take me to Mar-A-Lago."

Several steps are involved between her stating her desire to go and her actually going. And she is not the one involved in those steps.

But Trump lured Pelosi into a trap. Or something.

 

I doubt it would change his plans at all. He thinks the public is buying his claim that it is all the Democrats' fault. When it comes to his base, he's right, and he seems to have given up on everybody else.

 

She lives in a mega-multimillion dollar mansion with every creature comfort under the sun, paid for by the taxpayers. She can sit her platinum-plated ass right in the White House.

Unless the Pretty Princess is hogging the bed or something.

 

Remember, if you consider yourself a Republican you are by definition not only racist, but also a traitor to your country.

 

Recent polls indicate his base is slipping. And 62 percent of Independents, a group he carried in 2016, plan to vote against him.

 

That's not fair.

Not all traitors are racist.

 

Some of the base don't work anyway, so they don't see what the big deal is.

 

Mother should I build the wall?
Mother should I run for president?
Mother should I trust the government?

 

A trip by a Congressional delegation to NATO headquarters and Afghanistan was of necessity scheduled long before the shutdown. Also, James Madison and myself question whether Congressional oversight of a fucking war is unnecessary.
