Do you think it's possible that as was the case with Duke lacrosse, these kids might end up being vindicated?

Right wing trolls are sharing videos that supposedly prove Phillips was the aggressor. I'm pretty sure Tucker Carlson will be showing them tomorrow or Tuesday.

 

I keep thinking, if he'd murdered him, we wouldn't ID him if he's not of legal age. But it looks like this is non-journos making the ID here (and let's hope to Tebow they're right), so journalistic norms may not apply.

 

It certainly isn't ironic that on both on the one and two year anniversaries of his inauguration the goverment has been shut down

 

Predictably, there has been push back against Nathan Phillips and in support of the MAGA teens today. A Covington student sent a message to a local TV station, claimed that Phillips approached the group. Other claims that the only thing the group chanted were "school spirit" songs, and nothing derogatory. One supposed mother of one of the teens emailed Heavy.com and blamed the confrontation on a group of "Black Muslims".

Yet there's a two hour video out there that shows this group first getting into it with a small group of Black Hebrew Israelities (not Muslims). That's when Phillips and his small group show up, and they clearly walk between the two groups. Phillips' account to the Detroit Free Press is the only account - not that of any of the MAGA teens - that is completely verified by the 2 hour video.

The Russian bot army is, of course, pushing the narrative that Phillips was the aggressor.

 

Not to use the left’s own words against it, but isn’t this meme the same as right saying “hey that cop needed to shoot that black dude because he was a career criminal” and the left screaming “the cop had no way to know this!”

No. It is not the same.

 

Maybe the point is to live and let live and not be so triggered. A little more tolerance of opposing views and less confrontational actions against those you don’t like.
Make civility and manners appropriate again. 16 year olds should have a respect for their elders, especially senior citizens.

 

I’m disgusted by the smug asshole too.

But I did wonder what happened in the minutes before they came face to face.
