I agree that the "blackface" question is a separate matter, poorly reported so far.

But it raises lots of interesting 21st century questions about intention, whether you're talking about high school or college "black out" nights.

Lots of white folks in Holland, for example, don't think Zwarte Piet is "intentionally" hurtful to anyone, either.

So what's the cultural cutoff for American black face? Whoopi and Ted, 1993? Amos and Andy move to TV, 1951? Megyn Kelly, 2018? Bamboozled, 2000?

 

And yes, he is a moron of the highest order. He can’t breathe without screaming bullshit. The problem is several times in the past week the left has lofted him softballs to show “the media” lies. It’s crap and illogical, but it works for his base. One media lies counts. His lies don’t.

 

Facts > breathy #woke'ism unless you're @typefitter who, since we're playing compare the @'s, is the new @93Devil.

 

A disputed news story. A high pressure PR effort to tell people not to believe their lying eyes because white racism should carry no consequences. Not "lies." Facts in dispute. Facts in dispute only by arguments in bad faith.

 

All the principals believe their version of the story. Just like Rashomon.

The trouble starts when we hold any of them accountable for their behavior.
