President Trump: The NEW one and only politics thread

Pelosi's tough - no doubt. But really - I'm pretty sure the "deal" the Dems want is the one passed by the last GOP led Congress. Why make a new deal when the President couldn't even keep the last one with his own party?

I will say though - what typically hurts you in cases like this is when people are quoted breaking ranks (like the GOP Senators did at the lunch yesterday).

 

You can’t take Trump as his word. Nobody knows what he is going to say at this announcement and nobody knows if he will stick to it tomorrow.

Either way, he is getting his ass kicked

 

The scary thing for them is....I don't know if she's wrong.

In a normal, non-GOP-gerrymandered environment, it would've been a political bloodbath.

We had a poster predict Stone was getting popped after news broke yesterday about some strange grand jury (?) activity. But it seems as if the Trumpers dont believe CNN was staking out Stone's house for the same reasons. The flithy FBI must have tipped them off. Classic.

 

I have few doubts that Mitch was the one who engineered the leaks about the lunch. He gets to play both sides this way.

 

This is worth scanning. It's a loooong thread, but Spicy is the research maven from hell and he's been on this a long time. Feel free to disbelieve or give up on the thread as you will, but he's pulled a lot of stuff together over the last couple of years.

 

I'd like to think whatever deal is brokered will a) make all the furloughed workers "whole" with back pay. b) give the WH more room and time to back away from the wall demand - though I figure the main thing Trump gets out of the deal is to give his SOTU address.
Three weeks? It's taken five weeks to get to this deal. Anyone really think three more weeks will make a difference?

 

Damn it, trump is ruining my volleyball club. Newark airport is delaying flights today because tsa workers are calling out. We have 8 teams playing in Orlando tomorrow and Sunday. Some people are already here. I flew out of Atlantic City on Thursday, the tsa workers there said the first check they will miss is today. I can’t imagine what the orlando airport will be like when I leave on Monday.
