Damn. Sucks for her because she was definitely in the upper echelon of the women's roster.

Ambrose to All-Elite? Could see him having some good feuds there.

First thought, does Renee Young get AJ Lee’d?

Second thought, that would be a pretty big coup for AEW

I doubt it. I believe the WWE are really high on her. In addition, I don't believe Ambrose is "angry" at the WWE like Punk was before he left.

That's my guess on where he would land. In addition, I believe he would be better utilized with that company than the WWE have done with him.

He's a character who could stand to go somewhere else for a few years and then come back refreshed.

I always thought the same thing of Cody Rhodes.

It definitely worked for Drew McIntyre - a bit of a different situation, though.

That's one of the issues with WWE the last few years -- they have too many top guys and not enough time to give them all their due. Guys like Ambrose get lost in the shuffle. Some of it is bad creative, but part of it is just a sheer numbers game, especially as they call up guys from NXT.

Agreed – it makes it even more remarkable with what they were able to do in the 80s and 90s. They were able to push the top guys and the mid-carders to high levels. Look at Rick Rude, Ted DiBiase, etc., for small examples.

Its part bad creative and part, seemingly, bad attitude. Dean has some Punk in him, based on the Austin podcast and the doc when he came back. In fairness, he could’ve been working on both of those, so I guess I don’t really know if hes as bitter and quirky as he came off, but he def. seems like an odd duck.

His stuff outside of Rollins has largely been a dud. The feud with Lesnar was terrible. His title run and run headlining Smackdown were poor.

Last night though he had a spark with HHH, would’ve liked to have seen that go somewhere bc Hunter is a serious character who can bring the seriousness out of Dean. Their match before Mania 4 or so years ago is probably Dean’s best non-Shield WWE match

So with Becky crossing over to Raw, and rumors hot that Charlotte will be inserted (warranted or not) as a three-way, who will go with Asuka at Mania? Do they send Sasha or Bayley over? Do they strap the rocket to Nikki Cross and give her the big show right off the bat?

They were able to do so because they had characters that had personality and enough versatility to create good, albeit frequently cheesy, storylines.

DiBiase being the rich guy trying to buy his way to success works against any babyface. Rude being the lady’s man works when the other guy isn’t attractive, or just as an arrogant top guy. The heels nowadays are so generic with just slight differences between them. Heck, many of them wear black for no reason.

Someone like Ambrose, who’s supposed to be a “lunatic,” never really gets off the ground. He should have been pounding on Rollins for weeks and doing nasty stuff to undercarders and jobbers to build heat. Instead, one of the best heel turns falls flat because he’s just slightly more crazy than before. Heck, they blew a golden chance with Renee. Have him pound on someone and Renee tries to stop him. Have him walk away from her a couple of times. Just something in storyline rather than these awkward “Renee trying to make excuses for him” lines.
