Lakers offered Pelicans Ball, Ingram, Kuzma, Zubac and a first-round pick for Davis.

Even though you don't want to, you probably have to do this if you're NO, or do you stand pat for a week....play with fire that no one gets hurt and wait for a third team to get involved somewhere else?

    What a useless individual.

It depends on how badly the Pelicans want to move on now, as opposed to waiting.

They're not going to get a worse deal by waiting. That offer will stand. They might get a much better one from Boston.

The fact that they erased Davis from the pregame hype video while Davis is still on the team tells me they may choose to ship him now.

KD is going to opt out. Klay is a UFA, Boogie is a UFA and Draymond is one year away from being a UFA. They all want max or close to max money and someone's going to be upset. I could see Durant leaving after three in a row. He wanted his titles, he joined a super team and got them. Pressure is off. He might want something new. Plus knowing he'd be in a situation where he would have another max player next to him might help.

Wouldn't it be in the Pelicans interest to get the worst deal possible and try to improve your chances in the lottery?

They don't have to do shit really. You can wait until the offseason and that same deal will be there. The Lakers aren't offering shit. Ingram and Kuzma are decent players but they haven't improved this season and there's no guarantee at star potential with either of them. They looked lost at times without LeBron in the lineup. Ball is a point guard that can't shoot and has an annoying entourage. The minute Lonzo leaves L.A., the "on" switch gets flipped on LaVar again. First round pick (or picks) will probably be bottom half of the draft. You're getting a lot of shit basically.

But the better thing is it seems clear the other owners are colluding and basically saying they aren't going to let the Lakers tamper with their players to get them to be malcontents in their current environment and then try to strong-arm them with bad trades. The Spurs and the Pacers already told Magic to fuck off and don't be surprised if the Pelicans do the same.

Basically tell Davis that you can go to L.A. after the 2020 season and lose about $80M and play with LeBron when he's 35-36 and surely missing more games with nagging injuries if that's want you really want.

    No.

That would be like spending a million dollars on lottery tickets to try to win a $10,000 jackpot.

Would not surprise me. Boogie's not really a factor -- they're limited in what they can offer him, so he's pretty much guaranteed to leave next year. But Klay get a max and Draymond gets what he can -- he'll want a max, but he's not getting that anywhere. He'll still get paid.

If KD sticks around I think it's on another one year option just to be there in the new building. Then he bolts.

I think Lonzo's better than that and I don't think any NBA team really cares much about LaVar, but overall you're right. The three you mentioned plus Zubac are good to very good NBA players. Make that deal and your ceiling is probably a 7 - 8 seed over the forseeable future.

I've said it before, but I wouldn't want to make any deal until I know what I can get from Boston.

I saw a story a few weeks ago talking about Boogie finally getting on the court, and Kerr saying nobody expects him to be there past this year. They had a chance to sign him this one year and did, he came to get a ring, and everybody was cool with the situation. He's not a part of any long-term plans at all.

Didn't those four proceed to do literally nothing since Christmas day when LeBron went out?

None of those are "very good" players. Jokic is a 'very good' player.
