Nothing really, as has been said.

In this limited example however, truck inspections at ports of entry.

contra the president, who is on the record saying

Unlike what the Democrats say, they don’t, you don’t bring trucks of drugs through the checkpoints,” Trump told the Times. “You bring trucks of drugs by making a right 20 miles, and a left into the country. They’re not bringing, you know, they bring massive amounts of drugs, and they do it because there’s no barrier, there’s no hardened wall that you can’t knock down with your breath.”

It goes back to at least the Reagan days and probably further than that.

As a conservative and former republican , I suggested on Facebook last night that it may be time for republicans to take the high road for once. Come out and say “we all have done dumb things in the past. Isn’t it time we all stop crying wolf over 40 year old immature mistakes? Let’s focus on the future.” The reaction was worse than expected.

    Yeah. It’s done.

I honestly don’t agree going back so far in time to crush someone, but, damn, a Klan costume not matter what time you were in is never cool or funny.

To put into historical perspective, only 16 years prior to that photo the Supreme Court had to rule to get many Virginia public schools to not have white and “colored” schools.

I wonder how many active politicians today fought for “colored” schools to stay open?

He's been in public life for quite a while now. Amazing it only came out now. And that med schools have yearbooks.

Magic fairy dust won’t stop the drugs.
    “What stops the drugs, then?”
    A hermetically-sealed dome won’t stop the drugs.

Whether it's Northam, Kavanaugh, Paula Dean or whoever, at what point do people stop entering public service for fear that something they did or said sometime might offend someone living or not yet born somewhere sometime?
Before the torches and pitchforks come out, I'm not excusing Northam, and I think Kavanaugh is a scumbag guilty as charged.
My point is digging up bones is only going to get exponentially worse going forward with everyone carrying a camera in their hand and posting pictures and video everywhere. When you add in today's decline in common sense, increased butt hurt and hyper partisanship, it's going to be like throwing gasoline on a brush fire.
I wouldn't. I'm a pretty decent and law abiding guy, but I'd sure hate to be taken to account for every single minute of every single day of my life.

Or that the party that backed him had no clue.

I've never been photographed in blackface or Klan robes.

Neither have I, but just like I cautioned against, my point wasn't about Northam or Kavanaugh; it was about digging up people's past is only going to get worse and prevent capable people from entering public life.
