Great question - I'd recommend starting a thread on it. Could be an interesting discussion. Lots of different layers to it. The current discussion is about the wisdom of spending tens of billions of dollars on a wall along our southern border. Are you suggesting that all we need to do to eradicate the illegal drug trade in our country is build a wall?

Then someone needs to point out the trump support that can be moved by displays of civility and nonpartisan actions. The trump supporters are currently 90% of the votes he received on the general election. If the 10% is from Pa. Wisconsin and Michigan and the Dems hold serve they can be magnanimous in 2021.
But the trump voter will guarantee his nomination.

Iowa and Arizona may be in play in a general election. Florida may be in play but it’s doubtful to switch.

Who supports trump that can be reasoned with? And part of this calculus is that the Dems want to win, not just put up the anti-trump nominee.

Who cares what his next move is? Not everyone gets a golden parachute. He should resign. If he ultimately ends up flipping burgers the rest of his life, too bad.
