    From The Hill.

The number of House Democrats announcing their plans to skip President Trump's State of the Union address grew to four on Monday.

Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.), who didn't attend Trump's address to Congress last year, said he won't be going on Tuesday night either.

"The thought of spending Tuesday night in the House Chamber listening to the reckless, self-centered man who occupies the White House holds no interest for me. Just like in past years, I plan to skip a speech that will be filled with lies, deception and divisiveness," Blumenauer said in a statement.

    It wasn't intended that way.

I did not say he's running the country well or even knows how to do things. I did say he's more or less a daily president unlike Bush pre-9/11 or Reagan at various times. Which, he is. I don't like him, you don't like him.

There's nothing profound in what I wrote.

If by daily you mean he watches Fox and Friends and then tweets about it I agree. But if you mean he pays any attention what so ever to what is really going on or what his very own experts have to say we will agree to disagree.

You know what's really going on? Trump is going on. All day. Every day. Hence the posts on here about what he'd look like without a tan.

We have Trump, but we don't have happiness.

OK. We must be talking about totally different things. I grant you that Trump is newsworthy. He is historically inept, lies more than the next 10 Presidents combined and is a legitimate threat to our country's future and well-being. But hey, we talk about his tan so he is engaged (or as you say, "he is paying attention").

His historic ineptitude has added up to quite very little, though, hasn't it?

Worse that he were quite capable, and believed what he believed.

There are things happening in this presidency that underline some fascinating positive for America - mostly, that, day to day, we go on just fine with Trump in the White House.

Scary day comes when we convince ourselves, in response to Trump, we conclude we need the ultimate meritocratic leader, high-functioning and efficient with a million "good" ideas and the means and drive to execute them, to govern us.

Because that's what Mark Zuckerberg is. And I'd argue he's done worse as a leader than Trump.

Here's a thought that crossed my mind last week:

If college is free, do you have to learn what they want you to?

Yet money is still budgeted for all these unfilled positions. Where is all that money going?
