My sister-in-law dressed for Halloween as a bottle of syrup which happened to Aunt Jemima. She defends it as not dressing in blackface, but as syrup, though mostly it's told as a "can you believe what I got away with?" story. ... This was before my time, but, uh, it did not happen in 1985, either. More like 2005.

But why is Michael Jackson still deemed to be an icon, The King of Pop. Why are we separating the child molesting fuckstick from the music?

Oh, his fan base has grown quite a bit since he began his raceiteering. The days of making fun of QBs with Bama Bangs seem quite quaint now.

Somewhere between the salute to the veterans and the kid with cancer I was expecting Trump to bring out an abused puppy and talk about funding for the SPCA.

But tell me again about the Ds being hooked on virtue signalling.

Ok. What if someone went dressed in blackface as MJ but we couldn't make out the blackface because he had a child mannequin straddling his face? Is that bad?

Ok what if they didn’t dress in blackface, but wore a #32 Bills jersey and carried a trophy and knife?

Jimi Hendrix was light-skinned enough that all that was needed was a spray on tan. Jimi isn't blackface. Mami is.

White people are so fucking square.

So would Ben Carson and Clarence Thomas be figurative White Faces?

I'm right there with you BB and I agree. I'm not pretending that I was perfect long ago in college but I would have known not to do certain things. One of favs is Sixteen Candles and they essentially celebrate the fact that the woman was too incoherent to consent. I don't think that anyone should be automatically dismissed because of what they did in their misguided youth (however let's see how they are acting in contemporary times).
