It's a Democrat who said something that is probably mostly untrue, so that somehow justifies a Republican president who seemingly strings together a series of lies every time he speaks or Tweets.

OOP, I don’t like Trump any more than you do. Warren lied about her ethnicity in attempt to benefit to her career. It doesn’t justify Trump at all. But she made herself a slow-moving target for Trump and his insults. I like Warren and her policies. But she shot herself in the foot and I believe Trump would beat her handily because there are unfortunately many millions of gullible voters. And that is sad.

 

I certainly wasn't defending her. bigpern asked why it was relevant and I answered.

 

It certainly wasn't that "hey we're going to rebuke the sitting president but we're good with keeping and re-electing the lying, corrupt, treasonous bastard."

Watergate didn’t happen until the summer of 1972 and the hearings didn’t ramp up until the following spring.

I believe the reference is to Nixon’s last SOTU in 1974; Maddow referred to it in postgame coverage. A little more than 6 months later Dick was out on his keister.

 

If people can't get their head out of their a** and realize that lying about her ethnicity is much different than the more important blatant lies that Trump is telling then I wish them the best when they reap the situation they find themselves in under his lying, corrupt government (but hey, I'm a professional so I will be fine.)

Prime example, Trump says "hey everyone got a tax cut" but people be a bit smarter about it, the cumulative tax break to the individuals is likely about less that 1% of the tax breaks given to the corporations (and hence the top 0.5% of the people.) You got screwed, but hey if you're happy with your $20 tax credit/refund, that's on you.
