    I really like this tweet thread. Poster posits that Trump accepted Russian help mainly over money, without understanding what exactly it was that they intended to do to "help" him. By the time he did understand, it was too late and everyone went into lie and coverup mode. It might not be dead on but it has the right feel.

    Republicans are right about at least one thing - the vast majority of voters don't give a shit about stuff like this. There's no penalty paid at the voting booth for defiantly carrying on. It takes some Roy Moore level shit to get people to prioritize personal character over issues or party. Will be interesting to see how long Dems can continue to be the party that polices itself, particularly as the social media age carries on, and candidates' moments of youthful ignorance are increasingly available on film/video.
