This is only partially true, and sort of a rhetorical fig leaf. Historians argue about it.

Yes, once they got to Virginia, those first black folks were "indentured." They could theoretically earn their freedom after satisfying a period of service.

But they'd been brought here against their will.

They didn't enter into a contract.

They were kidnapped and forced to earn out their own ransom.

That this arrangement preceded the formal ratification of chattel slavery by a few years doesn't mean it isn't still slavery.

    Thus proving my point.

Medical care is much more important than a chicken sandwich.

People were standing in line for FREE medical care.

People were standing in line for an unimportant chicken sandwich.

People will stand in line for ANYTHING if they think they're getting a good deal.

And you offer free medical care, and yes, there's likely to be a heavy as hell demand for it. Heavy demand creates . . . long lines. Imagine that.

There was NOTHING in my post "defending Trump."

It was a comment on human nature. Period. That's how fucked up this nation is that someone could read my harmless observation about human nature and turn it into a political "side."

One is for a commercial promotion for a luxury that happens intermittently, the other is a necessity that occurs often due to a lack of available options. One can choose to go to somewhere else and pay $3.88 for a chicken. If your opportunity cost is less than $3.88.

Whats the opportunity cost for your child's welfare and the value of that? equating the two is a demented exercise in irrational mental masturbation. you excel at that, of course you're defending trump by defending trumpublican policies.

OK, forget Chick-fil-A. Put it out of your mind. It doesn't exist.

How is the fact that there is a long line for FREE medical care an indictment on . . . anything?

I go to the doctor to PAY for his services . . . and I encounter a long line. I'll sure as hell expect one if what they are offering is free.

I don't know. Ask all the dipshits in this country who bash Canadian health care.

The same as soup lines or lines to get in homeless shelters. It’s not the free portion that’s the problem, per se. it’s that it’s welfare or charity for one of life’s necessities.

I don't know what you are talking about. I just reminded everybody that you don't defend President Trump even though time and again your observations take the form of points that defend President Trump. o_O

It's not as if you have some long-standing, well-proven bias on this site that might put you on his side.

    Have a lovely day, tovarisch.

If you have disrespected Chick-fil-A in any way in this thread:
You are a dirty pirate hooker, and you need to shut your whore mouth.

There isn't a Chick-fil-A on I-40 between Nashville and Wilmington I haven't visited, and many I walk into it's sort of like Norm on Cheers.
